Counseling Services

The counseling services provided include both in-depth analysis and behavioral change using transactional analysis. Mr. Wagner has been a certified transactional analyst (CTA) for over thirty years. He is a member of the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) and the United States of America Transactional Analysis Association (USATAA). He is an active member of both organizations. Currently he is the Chair of the ITAA Internet Committee.

His special interest is in-depth analysis which focuses on changing the three basic elements of personality: thought, emotion, and behavior. This is the level of change for persons who want to increase general satisfaction, become more creative at work and home, and be ready for new situations as they appear. Change at a basic level is more thorough and increases personal options.

Transactional analysis is also an effective means of making useful behavioral changes. Behavioral changes are more specific and focused on current problems. It is the type of counseling for persons who want very specific changes such as deciding about a current relationship or being angry with someone effectively.

Counseling services are available for individuals,  relationships (married or not), and for families. Services for individuals and relationships are available to adolescents and adults. Family members of all ages participate in family counseling.

Training Services

Training services are available for groups, organizations, and businesses that want to enhance working together, develop better interpersonal skills between team members or between the work group and clients.

Cost for Counseling

Mr. Wagner is a licensed social worker, a service provider that is supported by some insurance companies. Frequently the restrictions placed by insurers and the difficulty in getting permission for counseling limits insurance possibilities.

In order to make counseling services available to everyone, a sliding scale of fees is used which ranges from $125 to $25 a session. A session is 50 minutes. The initial session will be 90 minutes. The first 30 minutes are free so that the person can discover if the counseling relationship is workable without personal cost.
